[he glances over but before he can say a word--it's that familiar inn again.

It's late at night and some commotion has managed to rouse Ahito from his sleep. It's not a comfortable feeling to share, feeling what Ahitop feels. The world has a blurry quality to it, it's a little too warm. Groggy, confused. still weak from using his power...and then a spike of terror as someone grabs him, wrenching him up from where he was on the floor and starting to drag him from the room. The panic in his voice when he calls for Ginko is obvious]

[ oh damn it. he recognizes that this is a memory, but that doesn't stop him from replying. ]

I'm here, Ahito. Right here.

[There's no response to your words...

On the other hand, another Ginko is present. He doesn't sound like himself, you know that for certain. But it's good and comforting to hear his voice and even before Ahito is let go--there's a sense of security and safety from knowing Ginko is there.]

We need to leave. We can't stay here.

[The panic is still there though. We need to go, we need to go... And Ginko replies "First thing tomorrow morning. We can camp if we have to."

No. No now. Please now. But that's not what Ahito says aloud.]

Okay. Okay. Tomorrow morning.

[ winces as he hears himself speak. what the hell was he even thinking. If he'd have known what was going to happen next ... ]

... We should have left right then.

[He wants to go so badly. But once the adrenaline subsides he's so tired. It'll work out. And Ahito sleeps and the scene fades to the next time he wakes

the girl comes in and starts to fret about this and that and feed them and really she's pretty suspicious from an outside P.O.V.

Which doesn't matter because Ahito's one hormone is interfering, even as he tiredly explains why he can't save everyone]

[ And there's himself, taking the drugged tea ... he half-reaches out for the cup, but of course he can't take it. ]

Too late, Ahito.

[And there is Ginko, starting to slow down....

Ahito reminding him anxiously we need to go. Offering to go on by himself, but Ginko telling him not to.

"Not safe. You could collapse out in the wild."]

I think I rather take my chances with the wild....

[But he lets Ginko go back to sleep, hugging his knees, trying to ignore the anxiety that's eating at him. It's not safe...it's not safe...]

[ slowly sits next to him ]

You were right. I just wanted us to be safe, but ...

[He waits and waits...he said he'd only wait five minutes but it takes nearly an hour before he decides to leave. He takes a moment to tuck Ginko's blanket over him--he doesn't like to leave him alone. But there's no choice. So he makes his way out and...

And the innkeeper makes small talk before he suddenly grabs Ahito by the arm.

It's not panic now--it's dread. Complete cold dread that leaves you numb and shocked and he doesn't even fight at first as the man starts to drag him.]

I'll die.

I can't heal an entire village.

I'll die.

[ balls one hand into a fist as he shadows Ahito. he can't help, but he can stay as close as he can. ]

Why did I even accept that drink?

["They'll kill you if they don't. This way ... at least we will survive."

And then the dread and the shock vanishes into anger and spitefulness. Why should I die and help these people?!]

Then we can all die! I won't be used like this!

["-- don't say that. It's only sleeping medicine. He wanted poison."

And the rage subsides just as quickly. Ginko's still here. Ginko's still in trouble if I don't do this.

All that's left for a moment is resignation to his fate. I'll die for these people. There's no helping it.

He's pulled around and brought to heal some young man. But he takes off his glasses willingly--thinking of Ginko the entire time.]

[ sssssob. he continues to stay close to Ahito, glancing around. he didn't see this part of the scene. ]
